Road prep continues along Windsor and Polo. This is expected to last until mid next week. By the end of next week, the contractor plans to begin curb installation. All residents will receive a letter explaining this, but here’s how it will work: Since the road is so wide, the contractor plans to place curbs on both sides at one time. This is scheduled to begin next Thursday. If the weather cooperates with us, they will be done with the placement by the middle of the following week. Residents will be asked to be out of their driveways by 7 AM on Thursday, August 5th. They will be notified when it will be ok to reenter the driveways. The bottom lift of asphalt could be installed the week of August 16th!

STRIKE HAS BEEN RESOLVED, CONSTRUCTION RESUMES!

The strike was resolved this week and new contracts between the unions and contractors have been signed and are in effect. The contractor resumed work this week!

The water main connections were completed yesterday, completing all underground work! The road prep work will begin next week. This will involve removing the temporary roadway that has been in place, and replacing it with the stone that goes below the asphalt road. Vehicles should not be parked in the roadway between 7 AM and 5 PM. Once the roadway grading is complete curb installation preparation and poring will commence. Notices will be passed out during the curb phase regarding access to the driveways.

STRIKE NOTICE

Dear Resident:

Thank you for your ongoing patience during the Village construction project adjacent to your home. At this time, the Village has been notified that Chicagoland Construction Labor Unions are going on strike. The conflict is between the Contracting Companies and the Unions, not involving the Village.

Work has therefore been temporarily shut down on your street. We are insuring that all construction sites are safe to the general public and will continue to actively monitor each site.

If any issues arise, or if you should have any questions, please contact the Village Project Manager or the Capital Projects Department at (847) 998-9500.

As of today, we do not have any information on how long this strike could last. We will inform you when this issue is resolved and work will resume.

Thank you again for your patience while this matter is resolved.
Work has continued on the storm sewer installation and road prep.
